FLORIO'S GROUP RESEARCH WORK

Florio's group research work focuses on the study of carbanionic species such as azaenolates, aziridinyl and oxiranyl lithiums, wich are useful intermediates either in asymmetric synthesis or in the preparation of  functionalized building blocks for organic synthesis, as well on their mechanistic, structural and stereochemical aspects.

- New synthetic methodologies based on the use of reactive organometallic reagents including lithium carbenoids

- Asymmetric Synthesis of highly strained systems such as cyclopropanes, functionalized aziridines and epoxides and substances that can be derived from, such as antifungal agents, antidepressants, dopaminergic agonists, new aminoacids, analogs of antitumoral agents by using the oxiranyl and aziridinyl anions methodology.

- Use of new multinuclear spectroscopic techniques for structural determinations and mechanistic investigations
